The course content is helping staff at all levels to improve their web writing for websites or intranets. Just a basic ability in English writing and spelling is needed. No technical web knowledge is necessary.

Professional communicators and experienced web staff also benefit as the training covers some new ground and recent research. It embodies 11 years of web writing training experience gained through working with Whitehall departments, over 30 local authorities, the European Commission and the UN.

There are 10 lessons which (together) take just under a day to complete, But you can spread access over 30 days to complete the course. You use your web browser (such as Internet Explorer) connected to our elearning website. You can dive in and out of the course whenever you like - it's very easy to use.

'This is an excellent online course that has provided me with a sound background to writing for the web. I will certainly be using some of the ideas in my daily work. '

Liz Mortimer, Employability Information and Communications Team, University of Hertfordshire
